Australian Flooding “Of Biblical Proportions”

Humans Aren’t The Only Ones Struggling In The Floods

The Australian State Treasurer Andre Fraser said the horrible flooding Australia has been experiencing, its worst in 50 years, is of “biblical proportions”. The town of Rockhampton, with 77,000 citizens, is bracing for even more flooding with threats of water up to 30 feet high. 40% of the town is expected to be affected by the water when the nearby Fitzoy River reaches its peak next week.

So far, this is Australia’s wettest Spring on record, and 200,000 people have been affected, many of whom were evacuated. Many Australian politicians have also expressed worry that the historic flooding could cost the country billions of dollars, maybe even more.
